Dr Prue Standen is a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist with a strong commitment to providing comprehensive, evidence-based, and compassionate care to women across all stages of life. She has a particular interest in adolescent and young adult gynaecology, supporting young women as they navigate complex and often sensitive health issues.

Originally from Adelaide, Dr Standen completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences with First Class Honours in placental development, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Flinders University. She later undertook her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth, one of Australia’s leading tertiary maternity centres.

Dr Standen has worked across several major metropolitan and regional hospitals in Victoria, including Sunshine Hospital, Northern Hospital, and Bacchus Marsh, and now calls Melbourne home.

Her clinical interests include high-risk obstetrics, adolescent and young adult gynaecology, fertility, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and menopause care. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Public Health, reflecting her broader commitment to population health and preventative care.

Dr Standen is dedicated to ensuring her patients feel informed, supported, and empowered in their healthcare decisions, and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver personalised care of the highest standard.
